/ Sunday Morning

Worship and learn with us at Cahaba Heights.

We are a small group of middle-aged to older adults who formed over the past couple of years and want to see Cahaba Heights Baptist once again a thriving and influential anchor for the surrounding community. We welcome everyone to come join us in studying and applying truth to everyday life. We prioritize scriptural depth, intellectual honesty, and a desire to see a thriving intergenerational community. Bring your hard questions and pull up a chair. Life is hard with or without Jesus Christ, and with or without others to support us, but we can choose to live in community, uplifting and challenging one another to run this race well.

Do you offer [specific service inquiry]?

We are a small, growing group committed to local ministry and revitalizing a cherished church cornerstone of our community. Our efforts demonstrate that small groups can accomplish big things through faith and service. Currently, our congregation consists of adults in their 30s-70s and the occasional grandchildren, but we look forward to broadening our age range as we grow. We have veteran teachers in our congregation who are skilled at helping little ones develop a love for and understanding of God.

The Reason

When and Why We Meet

Our Sunday morning worship is structured around the Word of God. We open with a call to worship through Scripture reading and prayer. We go over prayer needs of those within and without the church. We sing hymns from The Baptist Hymnal and read from the hymnal's responsive reading, which combines Scripture from several books of the Bible. Pastor Chris Malone then brings us a message from Scripture through expository preaching. Just as we open with Scripture, we also close with Scripture in our benediction. Come and join us in the sanctuary at 10:30 on Sunday mornings for worship.

We also gather in mid-week support groups to help individuals and families in our community as they journey through grief or navigate mental health challenges of family members.

GriefShare: Grief Support Group

Family Grace: Mental Health Strategies Support Group

Pastor Christ teaches us through entire books of Scripture, focusing on historical context, original intent, and the life applications we can draw from God's Word.

We meet on Tuesday evenings to learn new strategies and skills to help our loved ones facing mental health struggles. We learn how to protect our own health as we help our loved ones.

Our worship includes historic creeds, responsive readings, and congregational singing. We value quiet reverence, sacred space, and the liturgy of daily life over modern stage production.
